So excited to be sharing this stunning Vedauwoo elopement with you all! Shannon & Daniel are some of our FAVORITE people. It was so amazing getting to know them throughout this entire process. What struck us the most was the love they have for the Lord and the passion they have for sharing His good news with others.
Prior to COVID these two were planning a more traditional day. Shannon is from the South where weddings seem to have a bit more of a to do about them. When large gatherings were no longer allowed they didn’t skip a beat and started planning an intimate elopement. So where exactly does one elope in Laramie, WY you ask? We one of the most amazing locations is actually only about a ten minute drive. Vedauwoo is breath taking and we cannot think of a more perfect place for Shannon & Daniel to say I do!
Here are a few of our faves from their big day!
I thought Shannon’s dress was so unique. The detailing on the sleeves especially was just so swoon worthy. I swear this photo doesn’t do it justice, GORGEOUS!
When it came to wedding shoes, she decided to keep it classic but definitely opted for a bit of bridal bling. Brave girl wearing ivory heels for her Vedauwoo elopement, I am sure those rocks gave her a run for her money for sure!
On the wedding day I go with the girls and Rick spends his time photographing the guys. What I love about photographing the ladies is that getting ready is SO MUCH MORE than that. Its a special time spent with best friends before new chapters of life unfold. Loved this image of Morgan helping Shannon get picture perfect for her Vedauwoo elopement.
Some bride’s are nervous during their time spent getting ready. This was totally NOT the case with Shannon. I was so inspired by the fact that she couldn’t wait to marry Daniel and was totally counting down the minutes!
Rick and I LOVE black white photography. It just has this timeless classic feel. This image of Daniel tying his tie is perfect for black and white processing!
When it comes to emotion during weddings, hand written vows are the secret every.single.time. There is just something so personal about reading your own words filled with love for that person. There is absolutely nothing wrong if you decide to go the route of reciting after your officiant. But if you are on the fence and trying to decide which to do, go with writing your vows!
One of the things we adored about Shannon & Daniel was how the Lord was the central and most important thing that characterized their relationship. We love that before they headed to their ceremony, before even greeting their family and friends, these two chose to pray with one another. Their love for our amazing God is so inspiring!
One of my favorite things about photography is that behind the scenes of the MOMENT that you are photographing, there are often beautiful intricate details that tell the story. This is Daniel and Shannon’s hands interlocked as they pray with each other before their Vedauwoo elopement.
When Daniel and Shannon told us they were planning a Vedauwoo elopement, we were so so SO excited. What a stunning backdrop to say I DO. Loved this photo of the happy couple and their close friend and mentor who agreed to marry them.
This is such a unique perspective. During a more traditional wedding we wouldn’t even THINK to make our way behind the officiant. During a more laid back elopement day however our couples usually give us the freedom to roam and really focus on creatively capturing their story!
We were so thrilled for them when their seminary professor and close friend Clayton agreed to marry these two!
These two wrote their vows in the most adorable books! Love that special attention to detail ensuring they will be able to look back on them for the rest of their lives!
This is one of our favorite perspectives to photograph during a ceremony. THIS is how Shannon will remember this moment. With Daniel, lovingly looking into her eyes and promising to love her for the rest of eternity.
Love that Daniel is so emotional in this photo. Shannon’s vows were exceptional and we could totally see why he would be so moved!
Being a wedding photographer in Wyoming, means editing a lot of windswept hair. Elopements are a different type of photography however. There is something romantic, wild and unscripted about the beautiful way that Shannon’s hair moved during their ceremony.
Isn’t this photo so dreamy. That big sky background was just such a perfect for for this perfect day.
Ok so Shannon & Daniel’s Vedauwoo elopement was absolute MAGIC. Look at the gorgeous background during their ceremony.
Shannon and Daniel were married at the beginning of this crazy pandemic. What started as a large sized wedding in Laramie, WY became a Vedauwoo elopement. They made the tough decision to move forward with their date and invite a very small amount of important people in their lives. As photographers, Rick and I counted toward the very small total they were allowed under the guidelines at that time. This was totally not lost on us and we were humbled and thankful that we got to be there!
Could their not be a more beautiful and remarkable background than Vedauwoo? Photographing these two amidst the rock formations was such a delight.
We are sure that this little nose scrunch that Shannon has going on melts him every time. Love how when we would give these two space during their Vedauwoo elopement they would just totally forget we were there!
Vedauwoo is an absolutely gorgeous location to elope in Wyoming. It’s rock formations are so massive and remarkable. With these two moving away after their wedding we also wanted to include some additional scenery from our beautiful state. I doubt they will forget the gorgeous Fall colors we enjoyed during their bridal formals.
I told you Shannon’s dress was stunning, she was so absolutely radiant!
I swear we could have photographed here for an entire lifetime and never have gotten tired of this gorgeous location!
Ok isn’t this romantic nose squish the most adorable thing ever?
Shannon’s bouquet was absolutely stunning. Her florist, The Wild Rose based out of Laramie, WY absolutely got the vision for their Vedauwoo elopment.
We just love photos like these. Photos where our brides and grooms aren’t posing for photos, rather just enjoying their time together as a new husband and wife!
Golden rod Fall colors and love among the pines… oh my!
Still dying over the amazing textures in Shannon’s bouquet. Even in black and white it is still breath taking!
Now THIS is a little glimpse into Heaven. Love how immense and intricate the rock formations of Vedauwoo were!
As a couple who chose to say I Do in the midst of a global pandemic, how could you not don your masks for a few of your portraits. This is so stark and yet so true to the moment.
A little wildflowery, a little Fall… a lot breathtaking, The Wild Rose did such a lovely job dreaming this up for Shannon!
